Duro impacto a la infraestructura del narcotráfico en Lisboa y el Algarve

La Autoridad Marítima Nacional de Portugal ha llevado a cabo dos nuevas intervenciones dirigidas a desmantelar la infraestructura del crimen organizado, en particular del narcotráfico, en las dos áreas más conflictivas del país: el Algarve, en el sur, y la desembocadura del Tajo, en la zona de Lisboa.

La primera de estas actuaciones fue realizada por el Comando de la Policía Marítima Local de Lisboa, con el respaldo de personal de la Autoridad Portuaria de Lisboa y de la Policía de Seguridad Pública, quienes el 23 de septiembre por la mañana incautaron un vehículo comercial ligero que contenía aproximadamente 2.000 litros de combustible, distribuidos en 99 bidones, en la localidad de Olho de Boi, en Cacilhas, dentro del municipio de Almada.

Durante una operación de vigilancia e inspección llevada a cabo en las orillas del río Tajo, los agentes de la Policía Marítima detectaron el vehículo y el combustible almacenado en contenedores que eran fácilmente transportables, recabando evidencias de interés para las pesquisas.

Las circunstancias que rodearon el incidente, así como el volumen de combustible incautado y su forma de embalaje, presentan características que son coherentes con las estructuras logísticas empleadas para respaldar y suministrar a los buques de alta velocidad, un tipo de embarcación que se asocia comúnmente al narcotráfico por vía marítima.

La Unidad Central de Investigación Criminal (UCIC) de la Policía Marítima llevó a cabo las diligencias de investigación y los análisis forenses necesarios, lo que resultó en la incautación tanto del vehículo como de los bidones de combustible. La investigación penal sigue su curso bajo la supervisión de la autoridad judicial competente.

Por otro lado, en el Algarve, efectivos del Comando de la Policía Marítima Local de Portimão localizaron e incautaron, a última hora de la tarde del jueves, dos embarcaciones, dos motores y cinco bidones de combustible, que estaban ocultos y camuflados en una zona rural cercana al arroyo Ribeiro Terras Largas, en Alvor, perteneciente al municipio de Portimão.

Tras recibir un aviso sobre la existencia de material sospechoso en la zona, la Policía Marítima llevó a cabo una búsqueda a pie, logrando localizar los objetos escondidos entre la vegetación y cubiertos con lonas, en un área de difícil acceso. No se encontró a nadie en el lugar.

La Unidad Regional Sur de Investigación Criminal de la Policía Marítima se encargó de la inspección del lugar y de los procedimientos necesarios para recoger y preservar las evidencias relevantes para la investigación.

El material, cuyas características, localización y método de ocultación sugieren que forma parte de una estructura logística clandestina que apoya el narcotráfico marítimo, fue incautado y los hechos fueron comunicados a la autoridad judicial pertinente. La investigación continúa para esclarecer su origen y cualquier posible vínculo con actividades de narcotráfico.

En la operación participaron efectivos del Comando Local de Portimão de la Policía Marítima, el Puesto Marítimo de Albufeira y la Unidad Regional Sur de Investigación Criminal de la Policía Marítima.

Harsh impact on drug trafficking infrastructure in Lisbon and the Algarve

The National Maritime Authority of Portugal has carried out two new interventions aimed at dismantling the infrastructure of organized crime, particularly drug trafficking, in the two most conflictive areas of the country: the Algarve in the south and the Tagus estuary in the Lisbon area.

The first of these actions was carried out by the Local Maritime Police Command of Lisbon, with the support of personnel from the Port Authority of Lisbon and the Public Security Police, who on the morning of September 23 seized a light commercial vehicle containing approximately 2,000 liters of fuel, distributed in 99 barrels, in the locality of Olho de Boi, in Cacilhas, within the municipality of Almada.

During a surveillance and inspection operation carried out along the banks of the Tagus River, Maritime Police officers detected the vehicle and the fuel stored in easily transportable containers, gathering evidence of interest for the investigations.

The circumstances surrounding the incident, as well as the volume of fuel seized and its packaging, present characteristics that are consistent with the logistical structures used to support and supply high-speed vessels, a type of boat commonly associated with maritime drug trafficking.

The Central Criminal Investigation Unit (UCIC) of the Maritime Police conducted the necessary investigative procedures and forensic analyses, resulting in the seizure of both the vehicle and the fuel barrels. The criminal investigation is ongoing under the supervision of the competent judicial authority.

On the other hand, in the Algarve, personnel from the Local Maritime Police Command of Portimão located and seized, late Thursday afternoon, two vessels, two engines, and five fuel barrels, which were hidden and camouflaged in a rural area near the Ribeiro Terras Largas stream in Alvor, belonging to the municipality of Portimão.

After receiving a tip-off about the existence of suspicious material in the area, the Maritime Police conducted a foot search, managing to locate the objects hidden among the vegetation and covered with tarps, in an area that was difficult to access. No one was found at the site.

The Southern Regional Criminal Investigation Unit of the Maritime Police was responsible for inspecting the site and carrying out the necessary procedures to collect and preserve the relevant evidence for the investigation.

The material, whose characteristics, location, and method of concealment suggest it is part of a clandestine logistical structure supporting maritime drug trafficking, was seized and the facts were reported to the relevant judicial authority. The investigation continues to clarify its origin and any possible links to drug trafficking activities.

The operation involved personnel from the Local Command of Portimão of the Maritime Police, the Maritime Post of Albufeira, and the Southern Regional Criminal Investigation Unit of the Maritime Police.
