Una y media toneladas de cocaína en una embarcación con rumbo a Venezuela

Efectivos de la Fuerza Naval de la Orinoquía, en colaboración con unidades de Inteligencia Naval, han propinado un nuevo golpe al tráfico internacional de estupefacientes al detener un cargamento de aproximadamente 1,5 toneladas de cocaína en las aguas del río Meta. La operación de interdicción fluvial se llevó a cabo en el área de Nueva Antioquia, situada en el departamento limítrofe de Vichada.
Durante el operativo de seguridad, las autoridades militares identificaron e interceptaron una embarcación sospechosa que navegaba por este importante río. En su interior, y distribuidos a lo largo de la cubierta de la nave, los uniformados encontraron un total de 38 paquetes de gran tamaño que contenían 1.500 kilos de clorhidrato de cocaína. Tras asegurar la carga, los efectivos militares procedieron a abrir y verificar el contenido de los paquetes, confirmando la naturaleza ilícita de la sustancia.
Las indagaciones y trabajos de seguimiento previos revelaron que esta ruta fluvial había sido explotada de forma sistemática por organizaciones dedicadas al narcotráfico. Su modus operandi consistía en utilizar el río Meta para trasladar grandes volúmenes de droga a bordo de lanchas rápidas y barcazas, con el objetivo directo de introducirlos en territorio venezolano, empleándolo como plataforma intermedia para su posterior distribución internacional.
Este contundente resultado operativo impacta drásticamente las capacidades logísticas y la estructura de transporte de las redes criminales que operan en esta región fronteriza. Además, esta acción pone de manifiesto la relevancia estratégica de la Inteligencia Naval y la necesidad de mantener un control fluvial constante como herramientas cruciales para anticipar los movimientos del narcotráfico y proteger los ecosistemas y territorios de Colombia.

Members of the Naval Force of Orinoquía, in collaboration with Naval Intelligence units, have dealt a new blow to international drug trafficking by seizing a shipment of approximately 1.5 tons of cocaine in the waters of the Meta River. The river interdiction operation took place in the area of Nueva Antioquia, located in the bordering department of Vichada.
During the security operation, military authorities identified and intercepted a suspicious vessel navigating this important river. Inside, and distributed along the deck of the ship, the officers found a total of 38 large packages containing 1,500 kilos of cocaine hydrochloride. After securing the cargo, the military personnel proceeded to open and verify the contents of the packages, confirming the illicit nature of the substance.
Investigations and prior follow-up work revealed that this river route had been systematically exploited by organizations dedicated to drug trafficking. Their modus operandi consisted of using the Meta River to transport large volumes of drugs aboard speedboats and barges, with the direct aim of introducing them into Venezuelan territory, using it as an intermediate platform for subsequent international distribution.
This significant operational result drastically impacts the logistical capabilities and transportation structure of the criminal networks operating in this border region. Furthermore, this action highlights the strategic relevance of Naval Intelligence and the need to maintain constant river control as crucial tools to anticipate drug trafficking movements and protect the ecosystems and territories of Colombia.
