Detienen al líder del clan Mazzarella de la Camorra escondido en un armario de su vivienda.

En la madrugada, los agentes de los Carabinieri de la Unidad Operativa de la Compañía Stella de Nápoles llevaron a cabo la detención de Giuseppe del Prete, quien es sospechoso de liderar el clan Mazzarella. Este clan había tenido como anterior jefe a Roberto Mazzarella, arrestado en marzo del presente año. Del Prete había estado en fuga desde el 3 de marzo, día en el que no se presentó tras la ejecución de una orden de prisión preventiva emitida por el juez instructor del Tribunal de Nápoles, por delitos de asociación delictiva, narcotráfico y hechos conexos.
El capo de la Camorra fue hallado en su residencia ubicada en el barrio de Forcella, donde se encontraba oculto en un espacio diseñado dentro de un armario, que contaba con un sistema de doble fondo que funcionaba como caleta. Este método había proporcionado en el pasado buenos resultados a notorios narcotraficantes, como Gilberto Rodríguez Orejuela, quien logró evadir una detención gracias a una caleta en su propia casa. Al ser encontrado, del Prete emergió del armario y, en un primer momento, saludó a los miembros de los Carabinieri que lo habían descubierto.
La orden cautelar que del Prete logró eludir durante varios meses fue emitida en contra de diversos integrantes del cártel criminal Giuliano-Ferraiuolo-Mazzarella.
Giuseppe del Prete es sospechoso de haber participado en el clan Mazzarella como organizador, colaborando con la cúpula del cártel en todas las áreas, desde el narcotráfico hasta la extorsión, y asistiendo a reuniones en las que se tomaban decisiones sobre la gestión del negocio ilícito y la distribución de las ganancias obtenidas.
La investigación, fortalecida por el testimonio del colaborador Giuliano Salvatore, conocido como ‘Russ’, permitió reconstruir, a partir de mayo de 2021, las actividades del clan Mazzarella en la mencionada zona geocriminal, donde se afirma que Giuseppe del Prete actuaba como contacto directo con los líderes de la organización.
La medida ejecutada es una medida cautelar, emitida durante las investigaciones preliminares, contra la cual se puede interponer recurso, y representa un significativo golpe al clan mafioso de tipo camorrista.

In the early morning, agents from the Carabinieri of the Operational Unit of the Stella Company in Naples carried out the arrest of Giuseppe del Prete, who is suspected of leading the Mazzarella clan. This clan had previously been headed by Roberto Mazzarella, who was arrested in March of this year. Del Prete had been on the run since March 3, the day he failed to appear following the execution of a preventive detention order issued by the investigating judge of the Naples Court for crimes of criminal association, drug trafficking, and related offenses.
The Camorra boss was found in his residence located in the Forcella neighborhood, where he was hidden in a space designed within a wardrobe, which had a double-bottom system functioning as a hideout. This method had previously yielded good results for notorious drug traffickers, such as Gilberto Rodríguez Orejuela, who managed to evade arrest thanks to a hideout in his own home. When discovered, del Prete emerged from the wardrobe and initially greeted the Carabinieri members who had found him.
The precautionary order that del Prete managed to evade for several months was issued against various members of the Giuliano-Ferraiuolo-Mazzarella criminal cartel.
Giuseppe del Prete is suspected of having participated in the Mazzarella clan as an organizer, collaborating with the cartel's leadership in all areas, from drug trafficking to extortion, and attending meetings where decisions were made regarding the management of the illicit business and the distribution of the profits obtained.
The investigation, strengthened by the testimony of collaborator Giuliano Salvatore, known as 'Russ', allowed for the reconstruction, starting in May 2021, of the activities of the Mazzarella clan in the aforementioned geocriminal area, where it is claimed that Giuseppe del Prete acted as a direct contact with the organization's leaders.
The executed measure is a precautionary measure, issued during the preliminary investigations, against which an appeal can be filed, and represents a significant blow to the Camorra-type mafia clan.
