The drug trafficking routes between Spain and various European countries constitute one of the most significant challenges for law enforcement. In the context of this struggle, the authorities in Spanish territory and Romania have carried out a highly relevant operation.

Thus, the Civil Guard of Jaén, in collaboration with the Romanian Police, has managed to dismantle, as part of Operation Vectus, a criminal organization dedicated to international drug trafficking, which operated from the province of Jaén and maintained activities in different parts of the European continent.

According to the investigations conducted, the organization used buses, private vehicles, and vans to transport drugs from Spain to several countries in Europe. To evade detection, the group members employed various concealment methods during the transfers.

The investigation has received support from Romanian police authorities, highlighting the importance of international cooperation in the fight against networks engaged in drug trafficking.

The intervention of the Organic Unit of Judicial Police of the Civil Guard Command in Jaén has been fundamental in the operation, responsible for the investigations that allowed progress in dismantling the criminal organization.

The investigation, which lasted for three years, shows that the criminal network had been active for a considerable time. Of those arrested, two have been imprisoned in Spain and the other two in Romania.
