A narco-submarine and two speedboats were found in La Guajira.

Members of the National Navy of Colombia have discovered a site where a narco-submarine was hidden, along with two speedboats, located very close to the exit to the Caribbean in the area of Uribia, La Guajira. Not far from this location, in February, a shipyard intended for the construction of semi-submersibles heading to Europe had been found.

The operation, according to reports from the Navy, was carried out jointly with the Colombian Air Force and coordinated with the CTI of the Attorney General's Office.

The action took place in a rural area of Uribia, La Guajira, where maritime means were identified that would be part of the criminal logistics used for transporting large quantities of narcotics to international routes.

Due to its estimated transport capacity, this intervention would have prevented the potential trafficking of more than 15 tons of cocaine hydrochloride destined for international markets, particularly the United States and Europe.

The disabling of these means impacts the logistical capabilities that are considered strategic for drug trafficking, restricting their mobility and sustainability. It cannot be ruled out that these three vessels may have been 'saved' after the operation carried out in the same area in February.

This location is ideal for concealment, as it is situated in an area with sparse population and has direct access to the sea through the river arm where it is located. Additionally, the surrounding vegetation helps to camouflage the hulls of the vessels.
