A drug trafficking boat is seized at the mouth of the Guadalquivir.

A new setback has occurred in the logistics of drug trafficking in the waters of the Guadalquivir. The Maritime Service of the Civil Guard has managed to intercept a high-speed boat at the mouth of the river, following a rapid pursuit in an area considered strategic for the operations of criminal organizations that use the Andalusian coast as a base for their illicit activities.

The boat, equipped with four engines and designed to operate at high speeds, was transporting a significant cargo of fuel that is believed to have been intended for supplying other vessels at sea. This type of floating infrastructure has been conceived to maintain the autonomy of the narco-boats and extend their operations far from the coast.

As a result of this operation, four individuals have been arrested, who were the crew members of the boat, in addition to the confiscation of both the fuel and the vessel used for its transport.

This operation once again highlights the importance of "petaqueo," a fundamental activity in the logistical chain of maritime drug trafficking. Providing gasoline in remote locations allows narco-boats to remain at sea for longer periods and reduces the need to return to shore for refueling.

The mouth of the Guadalquivir, due to its location and connection with the Atlantic coastline of Andalusia, represents a particularly vulnerable area for monitoring these activities. The intervention of the Maritime Service translates into a new blow against the resources used to support the operations of drug trafficking networks.
