The curtain rises forcefully, an unchanging speech with the sleeping child included, the same complaints and protests because what went wrong back then has not been fixed. I embrace Pablo Motos and sit down on the set of El Hormiguero. The President of Ceuta, Juan Vivas, has appeared tonight on the media program Antena 3 to highlight what is happening in our city.

He has done so to demand that this crisis not be treated with partisan overtones. Vivas has made sure that tonight all of Spain does not forget what is happening in Ceuta, which is ultimately the key to everything.

Because when forgetfulness reigns, no one knows what happened, and that is the worst thing that can happen to this city.

“In Ceuta, we have lived through the most important crisis of democracy; this should not be a partisan issue,” the president stated.

“Unfortunately, the Government and its president, Pedro Sánchez, could have prevented the invasion and did not do so; they could have deployed the capabilities and resources to prevent the massive entry and did not do so; they could have used all means to face this serious crisis and did not do so. This affects all Spaniards; it is not a partisan issue,” he insisted.

“Yesterday we saw the courage of some women from Ceuta who said enough is enough, and moreover, we have the support of the Spanish people because this affects all of Spain. Ceuta does not surrender, does not sell out, Ceuta defends itself,” he specified, emphasizing that in the demonstrations held, it has been made clear “that Spanish society has heart and Spain is in the hearts of Spaniards.”

Vivas conveyed to the audience how the quality of life of the people of Ceuta has changed three months after the invasion, with still 15,000 people remaining.

“The aggravating factor of having 20% of the population remaining is that we have no time horizon. The returns being made are voluntary or due to committing crimes; the return to normality depends on this because there have not yet been any administrative expulsions. A decree was prepared and was withdrawn because Sumar did not like it; with that decree, those expulsions would have been expedited. It carries more weight that Sumar likes it than defending the rights of the people of Ceuta,” he denounced.

Vivas recalled with data what has happened: an increase of 185% in calls to 112 reporting incidents, a 500% increase in events at the port, and how crime has increased by 60% according to TSJA data. He added the losses of one million euros per day.

“If being in the tunnel is bad, it is even worse not to see the end of it,” he indicated.

Vivas referred to the collapsed emergency services, peaks of insecurity, the emergence of diseases that seemed forgotten, such as diphtheria or meningitis… and he made sure to remind what has been lost: the fair, the enjoyment of the beaches, the non-celebration of sporting events, and now the Mochila.

“Ceuta is wounded, but we are standing and determined to move forward. To those who did not prevent the attack, there are two things that have not gone well for them: that a Ceutí never surrenders and that we continue to be an example of coexistence and love for Spain.”

“With that, they did not count. Nor with the caliber of Spanish society. The case of Ceuta has touched the hearts of Spaniards. We are from a nation that rebels against injustice and does not want to be humiliated; it wants to defend what is its own, and thanks to those two strengths, we will win the battle,” he detailed.

Vivas emphasized that Ceuta is satisfied with the Government providing the same resources they used for the mass regularization of immigrants or for the law of grandchildren. “Is that more important than the sovereignty of Spain? Don’t tell me that Spain does not have the capacity to resolve those cases; there is no political will,” he lamented.

He recalled that, aside from the adults, “we have 4,000 minors because those who had to stop the invasion did not fulfill their responsibilities. It has been an invasion, not a migration crisis, and we must focus on those who had the responsibility in matters of defense. That question for Vivas regarding minors does not hold. If we get along so well with Morocco, why don’t they take them back to Morocco?”

"Morocco has caused the invasion, has put our sovereignty in check, originating and causing the deepest crisis in Ceuta and the climate of uncertainty that the people of Ceuta are experiencing, and despite this, despite the evidence," it has not been criticized. "You cannot organize a march without Morocco knowing about it," Vivas made clear.

"It is unacceptable that the government has not reacted or acted firmly in the face of the crisis. Morocco was behind that action," he insisted, focusing on serious issues such as the presence of a Moroccan ship in the waters of Ceuta or that the massive entry coincided with the Throne Day celebration.

"We need to know the truth of what happened," he indicated, showing his confidence in the Audiencia Nacional. Despite the alerts that were made, nothing was done to reinforce the days prior, nor was a unified command established to avoid a lack of criteria.

"There were combined capabilities available to carry out a containment action that, avoiding deaths, could have prevented the invasion; I don’t know why it wasn’t done," he denounced, lamenting that, once the government was alerted, it did not initiate a diplomatic call as the first action to prevent what happened.

"It could have been avoided, and nothing was done; there should have been firmness, and nothing. Then the gestures and comments that outrage us, how can Pedro Sánchez come to Ceuta on the 31st, leave after vacation, and require us to recommend the music we should listen to," he recounted indignantly.

Vivas listed the ministers who announced they had resolved the crisis when Ceuta was "immersed in an invasion; it is a lack of respect that history must judge." When it was said that everything was resolved, there were still 30,000 people left in Ceuta.

"I have not had conversations with Sánchez since the 31st," he confessed, showing his confidence in the judiciary as a "fundamental pillar for the maintenance of democracy, as Spaniards we must know the truth."

Vivas highlighted the importance of the visit from the Kings, of whom he said they "married the people of Ceuta," proving that the crown can unite Spaniards.

For Vivas, what has happened in Ceuta has been and is very serious, recalling that when Pedro Sánchez came, he refused to appear by his side "because he was going to make comments about Morocco that would disturb him."
